Bill Rodoni is a Managing Director at Morgan Keegan Technology Group where he helps head up the firm’s private placement practice and compliments its efforts in mergers & acquisitions and other related transactions.
Prior to joining Morgan Keegan Technology Group, Bill was a Director at the Credit Suisse Technology Group (the firm notable for such transactions as the Google IPO, Seagate’s Going Private transaction, and multiple sales to companies such as Cisco Systems, Yahoo! and HP). While at Credit Suisse, Bill was the Global Head of Technology Private Placements and assisted in the firm’s coverage of venture capitalists, private equity firms, hedge funds and other private market investors. During his seven year tenure at Credit Suisse, Bill helped lead advisory and/or capital raising work for such clients as SBC Communications (now AT&T), Exigen, Plumtree Software (acquired by BEA Systems), Aspentech, Storageway, and Actional (acquired by Progress Software), and, in the process, helped his clients raise almost $1 billion in growth capital.
Prior to joining Credit Suisse, Bill was a senior attorney in the Corporate Securities Group at Gray Cary (now DLA Piper), one of the largest law firms in the world, where he represented both privately-held and public technology companies in a wide range of transactions including private placements, public offerings, mergers & acquisitions, and technology licensing. While at Gray Cary, Bill represented such notable companies as Ascend Communications (acquired by Lucent Technologies), Vantive Corporation (acquired by Peoplesoft), Ross Stores, Silicon Gaming (acquired by IGT), 3Com, Launch Media (acquired by Yahoo!) and Aspect Development (acquired by i2).
Prior to joining Gray Cary, Bill was a financial/legal analyst at First Pacific Company in Hong Kong, a large, multinational Asia-based conglomerate with worldwide operations in sectors such as real estate, telecommunications, and consumer goods.
Bill has both a J.D. (summa cum laude) and a B.S. in Finance from Santa Clara University.
