Short-term Time Horizon

In addition to having an investment plan and proper diversification, you must also have a long-term investment horizon for achieving your goals. Over time, the stock market has exhibited a general upward trend, however, in any given year the range of returns you may experience can be very large, depending on the investment strategy you employ.
